Born in Chicago, I spent my first 5 years in Hyde Park, and The Point was where I first learned to swim. Long before I became an artist, this shoreline had already become part of my story. Years later, rather than recreate the original painting, I chose to rediscover it. By isolating a single moment from the larger work and reimagining it through bold contemporary forms, I found an entirely new conversation between structure, movement, and memory.
