Tokyo-based alternative rock band The Ratel's long-awaited first album is now available on LP. A five-piece band whose 2018 debut Focus EP, a dark psychedelic sound full of melanch oly and gothic romance like early 4AD, drew a lot of attention in various places. After a year and a half in the making, the five-piece band has finally completed their masterful first album! In 2018, former Yohhei Yoshida group members Wakana Ikeda on flute and Aya Naito on bassoon, along with Takeshi Hatakeyama (Gt./H Mountains), Takuyoshi Mizobuchi (Ba./TOURS,ex.SuiseiNoboAz) and Hiroki Togashi (Dr./harineko) got together and started working. This album is an ambitious work that further expands the band's sound, which has indie rock aspects such as Canterbury rock with wind instruments, recomended avant-rock reminiscent of Henry Cow, etc., new wave, and post-punk.
