Like you’ve lost momentum or clarity or energy. And then somehow, something inside you still decides to try again. That’s where the sapling came from. Growing out of something that looks finished. I love that in nature nothing is ever truly done. A tree gets cut down and life still finds a way through it. Not because it’s easy, but because that’s just what living things do. The light in the background was really important to me. It’s not bursting in or overpowering the scene. It’s just there, slowly returning. Soft but steady. The kind of light that reminds you that even when things feel dark, it isn’t permanent. This piece feels like hope, but not the loud kind. It’s the kind that grows quietly in the background.
