For many years, an insurance broker at 144a High Street, Newport, had been visited often by heavy footsteps travelling the same path through the building at around the same time in the evening each time. A familiar occurrence heard by several staff members, they became par for the course. However, one week during the winter of 1991, a strange chain of events began. A recurring but short-lived putrid odor plagued the building three mornings in a row before finally, one afternoon, a staff member recording notes on a dictaphone heard a long, loud, chilling scream coming from somewhere above the backroom. Concerned someone was in trouble, they searched for the source but found none and realised nobody else in the building had heard it. Playing back the dictaphone, however, the scream was as clear as day. It was never heard again, the odor disappeared and even the footsteps faded for a time, but are still heard every now and then, trudging their familiar path. This ghost features a hollowed mouth. Our large ghost figurines measure approximately 8cm tall and are hand-made with care on the Isle of Wight, thought to be the most haunted island in the world. Each ghost is completely unique and features an Isle of Wight shaped base. Matt finish.
