This is the 3rd reprint of this book as the first publication sold out at its launch. The book provides a wonderful insight into the early days of surveying in remote and sometimes dangerous areas. These were the days before air-conditioning, car refrigerators and satellite phones. Surveyors would have to camp in the bush for weeks and needed to be very resourceful when faced with mechanical problems, wild animals or accidents.
