It was evident to me from the start that Hurford is a passionate writer who surely loves entertaining children with her literature and putting a smile on children’s faces. Historical novels, in general, are difficult to write because you have to transport the reader quickly and effortlessly, but sadly this is rarely accomplished in a historical story but not with The Strong Girl. The Strong Girl is the way it is because Hurford knows what she is doing! Hurford knows how to whisk her readers away and entice them with magnificent moments and keep children entertained from start to finish!
