Keep your tatting tools handy and organized on the go or at home, with this sturdy, compact 3D-printable mini-tote. The Helix is optimized for helix tatting techniques, to keep your threads from tangling together. It has several slots and features to securely accommodate all your favorite shuttles, tatting needles, and accessories. The Tatting Toolbox features a rigid base with molded-in, tapered shuttle slots that set shuttles on their edges instead of their tips to prevent dulling, blunting, and bending. A large number of slots allow for carrying whatever combination of shuttles and tools fit your current project needs. The center slot can hold scissors, a needle case, other tools, or your work in progress, while the small circular slot fits tatting needles of different sizes or a crochet hook. The lid opens at the top into two halves like a clamshell, with both halves resting against the sides of the base to form two small shelves when open. Two small tabs on each lid prevent them from closing too far, and magnets* built into the handles securely hold the lid closed. Easily open the lid by pressing outward on the kiss lock style tabs at the tops of the handles. The lid also has enough room for small tatting projects in progress and a ball of thread on top of the shuttles. Standard Lisbeth thread balls fit comfortably inside the lid when closed. Parts list To make a Helix with all the same features and options as my pre-made version, you will need: 8 - 6mm x 3mm cylindrical magnets 2 - 1” x 3/8” rectangular rings The Helix slots and compartments The Helix has rings on either side of the case for easy conversion into a purse, as well as a slide-on, magnet-secured compartment on the base of the toolbox body for larger tools and work in progress. Purse straps are not included with the Tatting Toolbox. 12 small shuttle slots (up to 1/2" x 3/4" or 13mm x 19mm) Picot gauge slots (two slots, one sized for the Handy Hands ruler gauge) 1 crochet hook, or tatting needles (up to 1/8" or 3mm in diameter) 1 2/3-depth rectangular slot for needle cases, scissors, or work in progress 1 slide-off storage tray If you would like a different slot assortment, please message me to discuss a custom toolbox to fit your needs.
