Clean the inside of your machine's arm, cut the strip to fit (scissors only, on marked lines), peel the adhesive backing, and press firmly in place. Route the cord neatly with the included clips and organizers. Plug into any USB adapter and adjust brightness with the dimmer switch. Mark your patchwork pieces with the QIPS rulers. Place the appropriate ruler (9" for squares up to 6", 17" for larger) diagonally on your fabric square, wrong side up. Draw a line on each side of the ruler with a heat erasable pen. These are your sewing lines for half-square triangles, hourglass units, or flying geese — no measuring needed. Set your seam allowance at the machine. Place the Seam Guide Ruler under your presser foot, lower the needle into the correct hole, and press the Magnetic Seam Guide against the ruler on the needle plate. Remove the ruler — the magnet stays as your guide. Use the standalone Magnetic Seam Guide as a dedicated second guide if working on multiple machines or seam widths simultaneously. Clip and clamp fabric layers into position. Use the sewing clips for binding edges, hems, and small pieces — place them at your target seam allowance using the base markings. For larger quilt sandwiches and quilt rolls, secure with the jumbo clamps — squeeze to open, position, and release. Cut with the ruler grip and fresh blades. Attach the Ruler Grip to your acrylic quilting ruler (clean surfaces first), position the ruler precisely, and rotary cut with confidence — fingers safely above the blade. Swap in a fresh 45mm tungsten blade whenever your current blade starts dragging. Press on the extra large wool mat. Lay your blocks, sections, or long hems on the 17" × 24" mat. Press with your iron — the dense wool radiates heat from both sides for flat, crisp results fast. Protect your work surface from steam. Store the mat flat in its vinyl pouch. Erase your marks when the project is complete. Run a hot iron (minimum 180°F/80°C) over any remaining pen marks. They disappear cleanly — no washing, no ghost lines. Store pens tip-down, tightly capped, and replace refills as needed.
