RAINFED · Eastern Kutch · No irrigation Handspun, handwoven Kala Cotton (Gossypium herbaceum) from Kutch, cut and sewn in our Guelph studio. Left unbleached, the cloth carries flec ks of cotton seed through the weave; the fibre spun close to the plant rather than combed smooth. The structure is a soft herringbone: a fine diagonal that gives the runner body and a fluid, settled drape without the hard creasing linen is known for. Kala Cotton is a rainfed, short-stapled indigenous variety with a dense hand. Unbleached ivory sits quietly against wood, stone, and glazed ceramic. A runner that reads considered rather than fussy.
