The bomber that never was. The XB-70 Valkyrie was a project to develop a Mach 3.0+ bomber. This plane was able to do it, but the program was cancelled before it was really ever pro duced. This was mostly due to the takeover of ICBMs for strategic strike, but also due to the accident that occured with this plane during a photo op.
