In The Visitors, a group of Demoiselle cranes leaned in to inspect someone or something just beyond the edge of the frame. It had once been part of a larger painting, but I liked t he intimacy of this fragment. Birds had this endearing way of tilting their heads to listen better, as if trying to catch a secret.
