Founded in 2002 as one of the first-ever subscription film services with its DVD-of-the-Month Film Club, Film Movement is now a North American distributor of award-winning independent and foreign films based in New York City. In 2015, Film Movement launched the reissue label Film Movement Classics featuring new restorations released theatrically as well as on home video, with an emphasis on films by auteur directors such as Eric Rohmer, Peter Greenaway and Takeshi Kitano. Andrea, a university student in present-day Madrid, lives a seemingly normal life, until one day when her boyfriend is killed in a shocking act of violence. She soon begins to notice a mysterious entity that follows her no matter where she turns. Twenty years prior, Marie, a woman in Buenos Aires, suffered the same fate. Camila, a documentarian, learns of the threat these women faced, but no one will believe her. Across time and space, these three unconnected women are bound together by an inescapable terror. Director Pedro Martín-Calero's THE WAILING is “an unsettling, cryptic and disturbing film… a powerful feature debut about violence against women, about all that feeds into it and causes it” (Cineuropa). directed by: Pedro Martín-Calerostarring: Ester Expósito, Mathilde Ollivier, Malena Villa2024 / 107 min / 1.78:1 / Spanish, French DTS-HD MA 5.1 Additional info: Region A Blu-ray Behind the Scenes featurettes Booklet with essay by Shelagh Rowan-Legg English subtitles
