After almost one hundred years,the Royal National Hospital (located at what is now Ventnor Botanic Gardens) treated patients of tuberculosis as one of the best facilities in Europe. Left to decay for several years, demolition finally began in June 1969, but the destruction was far from routine. It was not long before workmen began to report shadows, the smell of ether I'm long disused operating theatres, screams, groans and figures passing the corners of their eyes. Enthralling stories soon began to travel the globe, but for those charged with the demolition it was a daily attack on their nerves and resolve. Worst of all was perhaps the never ending feeling of being watched by something unseen, but all too present… This ghost features glow-in-the-dark eyes. Our large ghost figurines measure approximately 8cm tall and are hand-made with care on the Isle of Wight, thought to be the most haunted island in the world. Each ghost is completely unique and features an Isle of Wight shaped base. Matt finish. Please note that by virtue of the hand-making and finishing process, minor imperfections or colour variations may be present. These are normal and add to the character of each spirit, with each one being a true one-of-a-kind.
