The Wicklow Way is Ireland's most accessible long-distance walk, running between Marlay Park, south Dublin, and Clonegal, 82 miles (132 km) to the south-west. The scenery is varied, with much of the route lying over 1600 feet (500 m). From the heather-clad Wicklow Mountains, the Way gives glorious views over mountains, loughs and the Irish coast. It also passes through forests and farmland, on a mixture of tracks, roads and winding lanes rich in wildlife and history. The second edition of this guidebook contains all you need: Detailed directions updated in late 2019. How to plan accommodation and transport. Information on history, geology and wildlife. Expanded section on Glendalough's Monastic City. 80 colour photographs. Drop-down route map (scale 1:100,000). Rainproof paper.
