Design InspirationThis table is inspired by the "Thebes Stool," originally produced by Liberty of London in 1884 and based on drawings of ancient Egyptian furniture published at that time. It's a signature example of founder Richard Johnson's "transcribed details" approach, drawing on late 19th-century Anglo-Egyptian antiques and their bold, flared geometry to shape a table that balances historical form with relaxed modern texture. CraftsmanshipHandcrafted in California from walnut, the table is finished in "Warm Walnut" with ebonized accents, light distressing, hand planing, and randomly opened planks on top, completed with a hand-rubbed wax and medium sheen — a hallmark of the brand's entirely hand-applied finishes, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. The edge band rises and upturns at each corner, and the base features a Sea Grass woven undershelf. The Dixie & Grace DifferenceSara Fattori, licensed by the Florida State Board of Architecture and Interior Design, and her team bring rare depth of expertise to every piece. Most of our furnishings offer custom options — sizing, veneer and metal finishes, fabric, leather, and cushion configurations — so we can tailor a piece to your exact vision or match it to furnishings you already own. Whether you already know what you want or need guidance along the way, Dixie & Grace offers as much or as little support as it takes to bring the Thebes Side Table into your space.
