They Call Us The Lucky Ones is the seventh studio album by Oscar and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Ryan Bingham, released May 15, 2026 on The Bingham Recording Co./Thirty Tigers — his first full-length project in seven years and his first recorded with Dallas outfit The Texas Gentlemen as his full backing band. Co-produced by Bingham and sound engineer Grant Wilborn, the record was built through loose, instinct-driven live sessions rather than careful studio architecture: as Bingham described it to People, "We literally just — 'Let's just go jam'" — and after several such sessions the album came together organically. The lineup includes guitarists Ryan Ake and Cody Huggins, pianist and organist Daniel Creamer, bassist Scott Lee, drummer Paul Grass, and Richard Bowden on fiddle and mandolin, whose contributions extend the sonic palette well beyond a standard rock configuration.Across ten tracks, the album moves through the well-worn landscape of Bingham's songwriting — drifters and outlaws, back roads and borderlands, addiction and survival — but the emotional tenor here is noticeably lighter than his earlier work. Holler described it as feeling "as much like a reclamation as it does a reflection," and Whiskey Riff noted that Bingham "sounds less like a man outrunning the darkness of the past and more like one who has found peace in the light of the present." The album's title track — the only song Bingham didn't write himself, credited to guitarist Cody Huggins — frames the record's central tension: the outlaw troubadour mythology inverted to reveal a life far less glamorous than its legend, redeemed finally by gratitude and, in this chapter of Bingham's life, by love. Americana Highways observed that The Texas Gentlemen give him "a bigger, brasher milieu to work within, making the music even better."
