This distinguished cello by maker Thomas Hoyer is both powerful and well-balanced. The instrument offers natural responsiveness and provides a lovely clean, creamy tone. Players will enjoy plenty of full-bodied projection with the ability to push when needed. The cello handles nicely, playing easily in upper positions with clean articulation that grabs the string well. Easy to play, this instrument would make a great partner for an intermediate student on up. Suitable for both solo and chamber work, this versatile cello serves as an excellent all-around choice for musicians who need an instrument capable of everything. Thomas Hoyer comes from a long line of luthiers on both sides of his family going all the way back to the 1750's, including his mother, who was a fine luthier in her own right. After the second world war, the family moved from Schoenbach in Bohemia to Bubenreuth. Thomas studied with his father Georg Hoyer and received his Master's Certificate from the Mittenwald violin making school in 1998. After receiving his master degree in violin making in 1998, he started in the Höfner master workshop, where he currently works as a product manager. This instrument is one made completely by himself, on his own time. A lovely German instrument. 4/4, Crafted in 2024, New Set-up Akusticus Tailpiece Spirocore/Larsen String set Belgium-style Bridge Ebony Pegs with Collars 10mm Solid Carbon Fiber Endpin
