Thor is a UK specialist soft-faced hammer and mallet manufacturer supplying copper, rawhide, nylon, dead-blow, and combination soft-faced hammers and replacement faces to engineers, fitters, and tradespeople in Australian manufacturing and maintenance environments where striking without damage to the workpiece is required. Thor soft-faced hammers and mallets — in copper, rawhide, nylon, polyurethane, and dead-blow configurations — deliver controlled blows without damaging finished surfaces, soft metals, or precision components. Where this product is used Thor hammers are used by fitters, engineers, and tradespeople in manufacturing and maintenance for assembly and disassembly tasks where a steel hammer would damage the workpiece — including driving bearings, aligning flanges, fitting keyways, and general mechanical assembly. Copper hammers providing a non-sparking striking face for use in hazardous areas and for assembly tasks where surface marking must be avoided. Dead-blow hammers with shot-filled heads that eliminate rebound and concentrate striking force for precision assembly, panel beating, and automotive work. Nylon and polyurethane soft-faced hammers for striking finished surfaces, plastic components, and soft metals without surface damage. Key specifications Specification Detail Handle Plastic Selecting the right option Select hammer face material to suit the workpiece — copper for non-sparking requirements, nylon or polyurethane for soft surface striking, rawhide for medium-duty assembly. Select hammer weight and face diameter to suit the task — heavier hammers for driving larger components, lighter for precision work.
