The Thoth Tarot was painted by the artist Frieda Harris (1877 - 1962) under the guidance of the famous occult philosopher Aleister Crowley (1875 - 1947). It was the first truly global tarot, drawing on symbolism from many cultures past and present, East and West. Crowley intended it to be a magical atlas and guide to the universe. Today, the Thoth Tarot is one of the most famous tarot decks in the world.For this new edition, the colours of the card images have been matched to the original paintings as faithfully as possible. A rival deck to fellow Golden Dawn member A.E. Waite's deck, this has beautiful paintings in muted colours, rich in symbolism and dream like in style.
