This goby is ideal for experienced aquarists looking to create a dynamic stream or river tank setup. Adult Threadfin Gobies typically reach about 4 to 5 inches (10 to 13 cm) in length. Males are especially striking, with long, thread-like filaments on their dorsal and caudal fins and enhanced iridescent coloration, which can include shades of blue, green, or silver. Females are generally plainer, with shorter fins and more subdued hues, but both sexes share the characteristic elongated shape built for clinging to rocks in fast currents. A tank of at least 30 gallons is recommended for a small group.
