As its title suggests, Ho’s Three Preludes is made up of three short works. The first two are for solo cello, while the third is for cello and optional drum kit. The beautifully cr afted Morning Song is rich with colour and emotion, conjured by expressive glissandi and augmented melodic phrases; the glassy, ethereal Fleeting Moments is a mesmerising journey; while Heist’s energetic, motorik line was inspired by cello duo VC2 and is bolstered by an optional drum kit part.
