THROUGH DEPTH 2026 Oil on canvas 90 x 65 cm 10 000 kr Signed: Malin Sahlén THROUGH DEPTH is a work about finding light through depth. In this painting, I wanted to portray an inner passage. A landscape where darkness, stillness, water, nature and experience do not stand in the way of the light, but become the path toward it. The green and blue areas move like layers of nature, emotion and subconscious spaces. Like quiet places within us, where something is allowed to rest, mature and eventually emerge. At the centre of the work, the light opens. It does not come from the outside. It grows from within the painting, through the colour, through the depth and through the layers that carry all that has been lived. To me, it becomes a symbol of clarity, source and awakening. THROUGH DEPTH reminds me that clarity does not always arise when we move around what feels deep, but when we dare to move through it. Through feeling, presence, silence and trust. The work invites the viewer to pause, breathe and trust the inner passage. To listen to what exists beneath the surface. To meet depth, not as something to escape from, but as a place where light can begin to reveal itself. Show more
