A fast-growing variety of the Western Red Cedar, Thuja plicata Fastigiata has a compact conical, upright growth habit. This cultivar makes a very attractive hedge with its aromatic dark green foliage and is ideal for screening in a narrow area. Fastigiata responds well to pruning, even reshooting from bare wood after a hard prune. Soil: Moist, humus-rich soil. Conditions: Full sun to part shade.
