Frank Lloyd Wright (1867–1959) is recognized worldwide as one of the greatest architects of the 20th century. Wright’s Oak Park Home and Studio on Chicago Avenue was the first resi dential design over which he had complete artistic control. The Oak Park Studio, added to the home in 1897, was Wright’s workspace during a prolific period in his career: It was there he developed the Prairie School style and produced more than a third of his life’s work. Motawi Tileworks’ 4x8 Skylight art tile is based on one of a pair of art glass skylights at the entrance to the octagonal studio. Their autumnal colors transform the interior light as the seasons change, which made a dramatic first impression on Wright’s clients and visitors. Show more
