Description Light/Soil/Water Hardiness Tillandsia ionantha ‘Red’ is a compact air plant with narrow, pointed leaves arranged in a tight rosette. The outer leaves are silvery green, while the center turns bright red to deep crimson in strong light. The red coloration can become more intense with bright, indirect sunlight, giving the plant a bold and vibrant look. All plants are shipped bare root. Enhanced Color varieties are finished with a plant-safe airbrushed color for a vibrant appearance. This temporary color enhancement may gradually fade after several months of regular watering as the plant continues to grow. Strong indirect, filtered, and/or partial direct light No soil is needed. Sand, sea glass, rocks, pebbles & bark chips can be used instead of soil. Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary.
