Tillie is a luxurious hand-dyed yarn made of pima cotton and cupro, a sustainable silk-like byproduct of cotton processing. Tillie’s chainette construction creates a lightweight yarn with generous yardage, along with amazing softness and structure. Made in Peru, this cotton blend has a gorgeous drape, smooth feel, and long-lasting durability. Plus it’s machine washable! Tillie is a hand-dyed yarn; we recommend alternating skeins every two rounds/rows to avoid pooling. Pima cotton (Gossypium barbadense) is special. It has a longer staple length (length of the individual fibers) making the yarn stronger, more wrinkle resistant, and less likely to pill. It is also known to be a soft cotton. Cupro is a rayon made from cotton waste.
