Racional Vol. 2 (1976) continues Tim Maia’s deep dive into funk, soul, and spirituality, following the same themes as Racional Vol. 1. The album was created during his brief but in tense involvement with the Cultura Racional movement, with lyrics promoting self-knowledge and enlightenment. Like its predecessor, Racional Vol. 2 was initially obscure due to Tim Maia's later disavowal of the movement, but it gained cult status over time.
