The first leg is a 40km journey over the high point of the trail finishing at Piropiro and the Timber Trail Lodge. With a cold drink on the deck well earned. Lodging: Timber Trail Lodge Day 2Rising to peaceful surrounds of the Pureora forest, time for a big breakfast then it's back on the bikes for the 2nd half of the trail(45km). With some challenging climbs but a brilliant downhill into Ongarue to finish. Then it's a 1hr drive to our accommodation for the night at the southern end of Lake Taupo. Time to relax, have a dip in the lake or visit the Tokaanu Hot PoolsLodging: Braxmere Day 3Starting the day with breakfast overlooking the crystal clear waters of Lake Taupo, you'll feel refreshed and ready to go again. We have a short transfer to start a section of the Great Lake Trail, winding our way around the lake edge to Kinloch. Here we will ditch the bikes and take a 2hr boat cruise with bbq lunch on board.
