This cuvée was born because these specific vintages produced such concentrated, ripe fruit that they demanded their own unique expression. Sourced from 50-year-old vines in the Premier Cru village of Villers-Allerand, the blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay is grown on a diverse range of sandy, limestone, and clay soils. Following a direct press and spontaneous fermentation in old oak, the wine aged on its fine lees before being bottled without filtration, cold stabilisation, or any added dosage. This is a generous and deeply textured Champagne that offers a fascinating, slightly oxidative profile. The nose is rich with aromas of baked apple, apricot, and honey, underpinned by savoury hints of biscuit, burnt sugar, and a chalky minerality. On the palate, a vibrant acid backbone drives a long, layered finish that reveals notes of wild berries and forest floor.
