Need some visuals to help your students better understand the concept of tints and shades? This package contains a few different resources: Tints and Shades Poster Strips (each color on a 10"x3" strip) with the colors Red, Red-Orange, Orange, Yellow-Orange, Yellow, Yellow-Green, Green, Blue-Green, Blue, Blue-Violet, Purple, Red-Violet, Pink, and Brown **Yes pink is already technically a tint and brown is a shade - so use 'em or lose them :) 2 Different Tints and Shades Combination Posters (8.5"x11", 11"x17", 18"x24") 4 Sorting Activity Suggestions The sorting activity includes 3 sheets with tints and shades squares (same colors as the posters) and 4 activity suggestions: Tints and Shades - Have your students divide their color squares into 3 different groups: tints, shades, and original hues. Total Sort - Have students sort all of their squares so that they line up properly (either from tint of one color to shade or shade of one color to tint). Color Schemes - Challenge students to organize their squares into different color schemes. For example, you could have them organize all the tints and shades of primary colors into one pile and then organize the secondary colors into another pile. You could also do this for warm/cool colors very easily. **You may want to pull the tertiary colors if you’re doing this.**You may also want to pull some of the darker shades (like the yellows that look like greens).
