Exactly as the name suggests these sit between the Shorty and Large in size and internal mass designs. While able to cope with multiple bowls in a row these are still a relatively short stem and don’t increase the unit’s footprint significantly. A lighter glass for the stem allows for a wider bowl, the glass has a wall thickness of 1.2mm. The stem is designed for keeping airflow open while the internal glass is positioned to cause turbulation of the airflow to maximise the surface contact on its way through the piece. It’s not your out hiking stem due to the thinner glass I recommend more controlled environment. Heavier walled stems will be listed elsewhere in the site (probably) All Stems have tested to fit on my personal devices Grasp stem in the centre on an undimpled section and insert straight into the opening, if you find there is more resistance from your devices o-ring than you expected apply a small amount of water for example to the end of the stem and retry. Don’t not waggle from side to side or twist while inserting stems. All stems are washed after the kiln and then dried in the oven to minimise water stains but I do live in a hard water area so some stems may have some marks, these will wash off when you rinse the stem before first use. I'm trying different ideas to prevent this currently so hope that I can delete this section soon.
