Tip Top Temp V3 – The Ultimate Heat Control Gadget for Your BBQ We’re excited to announce the arrival of Tip Top Temp Version 3 – now shipping across Europe! As the official European distributor, we can confidently say this is one of the most cost-effective BBQ gadgets we’ve ever seen. Simple, clever, and incredibly effective – it delivers precise temperature control without expensive electronics. What is it? Tip Top Temp is a mechanical temperature and airflow controller that works by adjusting your top vent only, keeping your bottom vents closed for stable, consistent heat. It's compatible with a wide range of BBQs and smokers, including: All Weber kettles and Smokey Mountains Pro Q, ceramic grills, and other bullet smokers Any BBQ with a traditional top vent setup How does it work? Just set your desired temperature using the included chart (which factors in ambient conditions), and the heat-sensitive spring mechanism does the rest. As the air heats up, the spring expands or contracts to open or close the vent—maintaining your BBQ temp within 5–10°C. No batteries. No fuss. Just perfectly controlled airflow. Don’t just take our word for it—watch it in action in the video below. Understanding the Tip Top Temp Versions All Tip Top Temp models use the same precision-engineered core unit, built in the USA from heavy-gauge plated steel with a durable hardwood knob (no fragile plastic here!). Compatibility & Durability All models use the same bi-metal coil as earlier versions — proven reliable and accurate. Accessories are interchangeable across units. With proper care and cleaning, your Tip Top Temp will last for years. Naming Format Explained: Kettle or Ceramic = Grill type 4, 5, or 6 = Vent diameter in inches F (Fixed) or R (Removable) = Type of vent Things we found during testing that might be useful:- Our weber had a cool touch plastic handle on the vent, We removed this so the TTT could fit- Pull the rubber gasket away from the TTT by about a third to create a nice connection, it won't suck on, but will stay in contact quite well as it heats. - Crack the bottom vents a touch, gets you nice clean air in and the TTT regulates the air out, use the sheet as a guide and allow 20 mins for vents adjustments to take effect. - The fuel dome makes a great charcoal basket for indirect cooking, light the top coals and let it burn down through the cook (minion method)- This will make your Weber air flow slower, much like a kamado, so the same methods apply when it comes to wood chunks, keep them small! if anything layer chips through your coals, for a milder clean smoke. - We have various retaining clips now listed for the TTT, pick the one best for your cooker, if you're unsure please message us.
