A spear-carrying bullywug in a low combat stance is a reach-weapon problem in ankle-deep water, and the posture here communicates exactly the kind of stubborn territorial aggressio n that makes swamp encounters drag on longer than the party planned. Run it as a rank-and-file warband skirmisher, a lair guard positioned at a chokepoint, or the first of several identical silhouettes rising out of the reeds when the party decides to cross the marsh without scouting ahead.
