30 and 50cm prints will fit in standard, store bought frames although custom framing is recommended. Stretched canvas prints don’t require framing as they are ready to hang but a custom float frame in natural timber on this one would be amazing. Photos are of 80cm stretched canvas print. Sacha, our eldest, is in the in-between of kindy and school and whilst excited for school, the expansive wait for it to start and for his kindy life (the only routine he’s ever known) to end is a pitifully tedious, drawn-out, heart-aching experience. The discomfort of the in-between is hard for all of us in life…but for this moment especially him. So, when he asked me to paint some happy birds, how could I say no? Fortunately for our biggest little man, he’s going to school with his best friend. They have loved each other since they were 8 months old. Soul mates. Peas in a pod. Little suns blazing with heat only matched by each other. We chose their school carefully - a school that, we hoped, would continue to foster their immensely kind and compassionate natures along with their untamed-zest-for-life side. All the best things are wild and free after all and these two are set to soar…and we really can’t wait to see them fly high. It will be worth the in-between; Sacha just doesn’t know it yet. Today I painted happy birds but really, I was painting Sacha and his best friend. Kind of lovebirds. Kind of siblings. Full of love for each other and life. Maybe you recognise some lovers or children or family or friends or waiting-to-fly in this piece, too. This Australian kookaburra and cockatoo artwork celebrates love and Aussie mateship. It celebrates diversity, acceptance and love in all its forms. This artwork is perfect for children’s rooms, nursery decor, above your bed, as a wedding gift, for Valentine’s Day for your lover or bestie or simply for anyone who believes love is love.
