One of the annoyances of Tolu Balsam is the intensely dark brown colour. Payan Bertrand has solved that problem by producing this marvel of blending, a synthetic Tolu Balsam Absolute Replacer which is both pale in colour and utterly sublime in scent (nicer, perhaps, than natural tolu!) Our love of this material is so great that we employ it in a number of products for its odour value alone. And best of all it is extremely cost effective and there are no supply chain risks around obtaining the raw material. Tolu Balsam Resinoid and Absolutes are both permitted at fairly high amounts under IFRA, and this replacer is likewise allowed at 16% (in its diluted state), but even if you routinely use the natural products or don't need to worry about the dark colour of them, we still strongly recommend you purchase this replacer. For the sake of ease of use, we sell this at 50% diluted in triethyl citrate which makes it pourable and allows the beautiful scent of the base to open up its beautiful cinnamic heart.
