Presented in a gorgeous hand blown Glencairn crystal decanter on its own wooden podium, this exceptional whisky has spent over 40 years in one oak barrel that once held Sauternes from Bordeaux. With only 390 bottles eventually released. A 1977 Tomatin single malt, matured in first-fill Sauternes hogshead for 42 years. A delightful explosion of orchard and tropical fruits set the scene, soon met with bursts of rich vanilla and salted caramel. Vivacious notes of oak-aged Chardonnay, sweet honeysuckle, and baking spice, enticed from the Sauternes cask influence, dance across the palate resulting in a gloriously long finish.
