Tomato paste is a versatile ingredient that can be used in various ways to enhance the flavour of your dishes. Here are some common ways to use tomato paste in cooking: Sauces and gravies: Tomato paste forms the base of many sauces and gravies, such as marinara sauce, Bolognese sauce, or curry sauces. It adds depth, richness, and a concentrated tomato flavour to these dishes. Soups and stews: Tomato paste can be added to soups and stews to give them a hearty tomato taste. It works well in vegetable soups, chili, goulash, and bean-based stews. Pasta dishes: Incorporate tomato paste into pasta dishes like spaghetti, lasagna, or penne arrabbiata for a robust tomato flavour. It blends well with other ingredients and complements various pasta sauces. Pizza and flatbreads: Spread a thin layer of tomato paste on pizza dough or flatbread before adding toppings. It serves as a flavour-packed foundation and helps to intensify the tomato taste. Meat and poultry dishes: Tomato paste can be used as a marinade or added to meat and poultry dishes. It works particularly well with beef, chicken, and lamb, adding a tangy depth of flavour. It can be used in meatballs, stews, braised dishes, or even in burgers. Vegetable dishes: Tomato paste can enhance the flavour of vegetable-based recipes, such as ratatouille, vegetable curries, or roasted vegetables. It adds a touch of acidity and sweetness to balance the dish. Flavour booster: Tomato paste can be used as a flavour enhancer in various dishes. Even a small amount can add richness and depth to casseroles, risottos, grain-based dishes, and even homemade salad dressings. There's something to be said about the authenticity of Italian cuisine. From the aromas wafting through the streets to the flavours dancing on your taste buds, there's no mistaking the origins of these dishes. That's where Favuzzi comes in.
