Lateralus is the third studio album by American rock band Tool. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling more than 555,200 copies in its first week of release . It was certified double platinum by the RIAA on August 5, 2003. The band won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for the song "Schism" in 2002.
