This is a three-hour course. What you will learn: How to describe the difference between a traditional cut roof, truss roof and flat roof How to identify construction methods when inspecting each type of roof Look at good and bad practice within roof areas This course covers design installation, construction and common defects found in pitched roofs. Your learners will explore typical roofing types, typical roofing materials and the main problem areas in roof construction. This includes: Covering materials i.e. underlay and battens Fixing materials Fire stopping Flashing and weathering details Good practice in roof construction Your Premier Guarantee trainer will highlight common defects found on a site when dealing with pitched roof construction and how to avoid the most common issues found by Premier Guarantee risk surveyors. Learners will leave equipped with the common theory behind the standards in the Premier Guarantee Technical Manual and why we ask for those standards to be met.
