Incentive Create the twirling effect of tornadoes using simple lines. -Line-Shape-Space-Colour-Texture Supplies Art paper Pencil Thin black marker Water paints Paintbrush Black backing paper Lesson 1 Using pencil, draw six or seven large tornado outlines. Each one should be wide at the top and narrowing to a fine point at the bottom of the page. They can be twisting in front or behind each other. 2 When happy with these trace over pencil outline with black marker. Use this marker to draw arched lines across each tornado, about one or two centimetres apart. These arches should start at the top of each tornado and work their way down to the bottom edge. 3 Using the black marker, draw smaller lines right down both sides of each tornado. These should be very close together. Repeat this step with lines going to the centre of each tornado, but make these lines wider apart. 4 Use dark water paints to colour the background. 5 When dry, display on black backing paper with facts about tornadoes.
