Her main technique is fine wire work from which other techniques are derived such as crimping, framing, herringbone, coiling, urban filigree, and hatching, among others. Many of her collections include a nod to her Mexican background by including artisanal-made materials. Lucina considers herself a lifelong student of jewelry design as well as a teacher in her local community.
