Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing (Flute and Piano) by J. Rosamond Johnson, Arranged by Evelyn Simpson-Curenton, Published by Theodore Presser Company. The poem, written in 1900 by James W eldon Johnson, was set to music by his brother, John Rosamond Johnson, five years later, and was soon adopted as the Black American National Anthem. The powerful song of affirmation has been frequently sung at notable occasions, recently at the opening ceremonies of the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
