Effective microbiological control is a critical component to optimizing efficiencies in industrial cooling water systems and oftentimes the most difficult to achieve and maintain. Due to a wide range of reasons involving environmental discharge issues, worker safety concerns, storage, troublesome feed equipment, and impact on system metallurgy, the selection and/or application of micro biocides is becoming typical. A novel non-chemical means of maintaining total system microbiological control has been successfully developed and effectively applied to industrial cooling water systems.
