This paper aims to demonstrate a correlation between coupon level pin bearing tests and in situ laboratory testing of FRP joints commonly utilized in cooling towers and other struc tures designed and built with pultruded FRP structural members. The investigation includes 4% hole elongation bearing strength as compared to ultimate bolt bearing with various bolt sizes and hole tolerances, as well as, the effects of threads acting on the bearing surface.
