Abstract: Concrete cooling towers in seismic zones that have been exposed to corrosion causing conditions are susceptible to deterioration over a period of time. When repair to suc h towers are considered, large areas of concrete will need to be removed from the structures. This may impair the structural integrity to withstand dynamic loading due to earthquakes.
