The integration of cooling Towers with processes and wastewater indicates that a better performance in cooling systems gives benefits for whole production including thermal energy targets. The audit in cooling towers and systems combines thermal behavior analysis, mass/energy balances, field verifications, interviews, and procedures review. The goal of techniques is detecting restrictions to the use of entire capacity of the cooling tower. The comparison between cooling towers’ audit in chemical, metallurgical and petroleum industry shows potential to energy recovery by each technology.
