The HydroTest COD System HTCOD is designed for the determination of chemical oxygen demand index (COD) using the small-scale sealed-tube method. The industry standard dichromate method can be considered as an estimate of theoretical oxygen demand. With a wide measuring range from 0 – 15,000 mg/L O2, the HTCOD is ideal for waste water testing, offering a small handheld photometer with two LED light sources housed inside a waterproof sample chamber. The highly-sensitive equipment is compatible with mercury-free tube tests, with optional chloride compensation to remove interference, and utilises the popular photometric determination method. Standard solutions can be used to verify operation and accuracy of the instrument. The thermoreactor is compatible with other products in the HydroTest range, and can also be utilised for tube test digestion of TOC, total Chromium total Nitrogen and total Phosphate. The thermoreactor operates at three pre-set temperatures, with three pre-set reaction times, and offers automatic switch-off functionality with audible alarm. Features & benefits of HTCOD Feature Benefit Small-scaled sealed-tube dichromate analysis method Industry standard mercury-free testing compliant with latest environmental protection legislation Extensive detection range Lower ranges (0 – 150, 0 – 1,500) are perfectly suited to drinking water applications, whilst the higher range (0 – 15,000) is ideal for waste water testing Flexible thermoreactor design with safety screen Suitable for a full range of test tube digestion methods, fully compatible with health and safety requirements Fast, effective analysis Pre-measured tube tests contain requisite reagent – just add water sample, heat in thermoreactor, and measure with photometer Waterproof, chemically resistant photometer housing Perfect for use in a busy laboratory environment, with protection from accidental chemical spills Technical Specifications Ranges COD (LR) 0 – 150 mg/L O2 COD (MR) 0 – 1,500 mg/L O2 COD (HR) 0 – 15,000 mg/L O2 Technical specifications (Photometer): User Interface 4 digit backlit LCD, 4 button rubber keypad Operation Analytical principle: Single parameter fixed wavelength visible absorption photometerWavelength accuracy: ± 1 nmDual LED light source with long term stabilityWavelengths: λ1 = 610 nm, λ2 = 430 nmAccuracy: 3% FS @ 20 – 25°CResolutions: 0.01AbsPower supply: 4 x AAA/LR6 alkaline cells, provides 17 hours operation, > 5000 tests Environmental Operating temperature: 5 - 40°CStorage temperature: 0 - 70°CHumidity: 30 – 90% (Non-condensing)Chemically-resistant housing Data 16 data setsData download via IR link (required T2o PC-Link module) Approvals CE conformity; IP68 water resistance Dimensions TBA Weight TBA Technical specifications (Thermoreactor): Selectable temp 100 / 120 / 150 °C Temperature stability ± 1 °C at probe Selectable time 30 / 60 / 120 / min. and continuous operation (∞) Heating up time From 20°C to 150°C in 12 min.
