We have been on a journey that has brought us back to the future! We are utilizing methods and techniques practiced by our ancestors whose practice depended on local ingredients, an intuitive sense of their quantities, and relentless trial and error. All of this culminated into the lineages of successes handed down to this day! This particular bar takes several days of actively making the soap. As our grandmothers did not measure, except for 'a little of this and a little of that', this method depends on making the soap and then removing everything that is not soap. This is also known as 'salting out' or washing the soap. It is through this deconstructive process that we are able to really pack in fresh plant matter into very clean soap matter. Our Traditional Lemon Soap is packed with whole lemons; juice, rinds, pith, and pits! Fun fact: Salting out or washing soap makes the bar of soap float!
