Although kimonos are world famous, today most Japanese people no longer wear kimonos. With the decline in demand, Kyoto Nishijin textiles are facing a crisis of survival. Therefore, in order to keep this time-honored tradition alive, we have begun a new challenge. It is the creation of new value, not of "Kyoto Nishijin textiles that are beautiful to wear," but of "Kyoto Nishijin textiles that can be displayed and admired."
