Sliding a fingernail under it may also help. Slide the stem into the hole in the spoon handle, making sure the bristles are facing down and that the stabilizer dot faces towards the bowl end of the spoon. Slot the gasket around the stem, making sure that the wide end of the gasket is on top and that the whole gasket makes its way under the stem end. To remove simply pull down hard on the bristles.
